EthrA

EthrA is StoneLab Games' 3D pixel-art open-world RPG for Windows. You play Bob, a farm boy who left home, and Veil, a lost child of a rare species, at the same time. Together they walk a continent of ruins, towns, rumors, and trouble while a thousand-year lie sits under the surface. The Steam store still lists the full game as coming soon, and a separate EthrA Playtest app is the public way to try the combat-and-exploration prototype. Use this hub to identify the two leads, the dual-character fight, the weapon sets already in, and what the first playtest actually includes.

Dual combat

You drive both fighters in one session, not a party of four and not a class swap. Bob holds the melee line: swords, shields, spears, greatswords, and bows sit in two loadouts he can swap as the fight changes. Veil holds spells and buffs. Keep Veil on Bob's back and the pair moves as one, which keeps Veil safer while you watch Bob's spacing. Put Veil on the ground and enemies have two bodies to track, which opens attacks and also puts Veil in real danger. If Veil goes down, Bob loses magical support. Auto mode exists when dual control feels heavy, and the store also recommends it for experienced hands who want Veil to keep casting while they steer Bob.

Quieter work

weapon sets lists six named classes. Swords, shields, spears, greatswords, and bows are implemented. Dual daggers are the next planned pair. Bob equips left and right hands independently inside each set, so a sword-and-shield loadout can sit next to a two-hand greatsword or a bow. Veil's side of the same loop is customize his magic: swap spells to complement whatever Bob is holding. Outside fights the store also names fishing, cooking, farming, gathering, and working on your home. Farming, survival aspects, base building, and co-op wait for later playtests even though the store still lists co-op among categories.

How to get in

The continent still carries the Ancients' work. They mixed technology and magic, then vanished. Enormous Monoliths keep generating the energy people call EthrA, visible as dense blue fog. Humans store that energy in crystals. Too much exposure causes Permanent Crystallization Syndrome, which has no cure and does not stop if you cut the affected limb. The public on-ramp is the EthrA Playtest Sign-Up on Steam app 4986460, dated 9 September 2026. Request Access is the open button; Discord members are first in line for keys. The EthrA Kickstarter runs through 10 October 2026 and has already cleared its roughly €40,000 goal.
